WASHINGTON, D.C.— U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) will convene the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation and Merchant Marine Infrastructure, Safety, and Security on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. for its first hearing of the 114th Congress entitled, “Improving the Performance of our Transportation Networks: Stakeholder Perspectives.” The hearing will feature testimony on the importance of a reliable and efficient surface transportation network; challenges relating to efficiency, safety, and overall performance; and the role of federal agencies.
