Senate Appropriations Committee Funds STB at Record Level $37.5 million for the STB in Draft FY 2021 Appropriations
On Nov 11, 2020 the Senate Appropriations Committee released its draft FY 2021 appropriation measures including funding for the STB at a record-level $37.5 million. This is the same amount approved by the U.S. House of Representatives, as recommended in the Administration’s FY 2021 Budget, and as actively supported by FRCA. This measure also includes report language advocated by FRCA, and similar to previous years, that notes the number of pending regulatory proceedings that would reform existing regulations at the STB and continues encouraging the STB to provide a timely and decisive regulatory process and encourages the administration to nominate the full complement of board members to the STB as soon as possible.
